Ok the busa is really built as a single seater bike with a token pillion option as an after thought whereas the bird is built for 2 up riding from the beginning.

There you go but why did you want me to say it?
cos it beats into a cocked hat the usual drivel you say!!! :rolleyes: thats why!! :}

LOL, the BUSA is a Sports Tourer as is the BIRD, the pillion seat is as comfy as the BIRD but it is separate from the riders seat, the pillion seat comes off to fit the hump.
It IS getting better reviews than the BIRD at present as the fit & finish on the K5 / K6 models is far superior to those of old.
Why would you think i'm selling a perfectly good BIRD to buy it??
I'm not knocking the BIRD (how can ya) but i feel the SUZUKI suits my needs and riding style better.

Its been the same since 1999 when it was launched, it has space under the seat for a few knick nacks too. (like tools and an 'AA' card :wank: )

Its still pants IMHO.

Looks like a fat CBR600F.

The side looks like a mish mash of bits with no smooth lines

LOYAL TO A TEAM

Until you read the spec and performance eh ;

186mph (limited but for ?50 that can be bypassed to give it a full 200mph)
170bhp (159 at the rear wheel)
Wind tunnel tested hence the shape.

Yeh i know people knock it for its shape but its what lies beneath, its a cool bike, i like it and its me paying for it and riding it so NER NER NA NER NER :p

Must admit Rhino that it does have an impressive spec and you are probably more than capable of exploiting its full potential but for the likes of me and a few others I couldnt exploit the full potential of any bike ( my testicles wont allow it see) c7u8

For good or bad I have always ridden Honda's (13 in all) except for a venture off to Yamaha and thats the reason I will probably stay with Honda.

Its not about using its full potential, its about knowing you have it...

If using its full potential is your argument then WTF are you still riding the BIRD for, surely a MZ 305 would suit you.(if you don't have the balls)

TBH it has fook all to do with ball size but it does have something to do with bike size, mid range, capability, build quality, after sales back up, re sale value, initial outlay, fun factor, practicality, looks, comfort, accessories, riding position AND owning the fastest production bike in the world........the knowing, the pride of owning such an iconic piece of Jap engineering..

OK Suzuki isn't renowned for its reliability as Honda is however, what known faults haunt the BUSA???????

WAITING...........

The BIRD has faults..
Clutch rattle
CC tensioner
Reg/Rec
Shit headlight
2000 model wiring loom
Ground clearance
Poor suspension
Slated over its brakes (which i do actually like)
The BUSA doesn't suffer from ANY major complaints since the rear subframe was made in steel and since the paint used was changed to use a different laquer and a majority of the fixtures and fittings are now alloy or stainless as are the exhausts..

Oh my argument just gets stronger as it goes. The BUSA is being developed and is improving unlike the Honda XX,,, stuck in a slabsided timewarp.

So why change if the difference is minimal ?

Not an arguement, just an observation

Patiently for a new Bird

Maybe !!

Or a Pan if I get to 50 first but then someone will probably tell me that an FJ1300 auto will be better

The BIRD has faults..

Clutch rattle ------------- Mine doesnt
CC tensioner -------------Thats what warranty is for
Reg/Rec -----------------Ditto
Shit headlight -------------Dont ride so fast
2000 model wiring loom -------------Cant say I noticed
Ground clearance ------------------never get that low
Poor suspension ---------------------Not that fat
Slated over its brakes (which i do actually like) -------They stop me too

So how long did you own a slabsided bike for ?

I dont think the Bird is in a timewarp at all, it is just fully developed, unlike the Busa as you say is still being developed.

I am sure it will still look very attractive with a full set of luggaage, although I wouldnt like to go touring in that position again, not for any distance anyway.

Go for it Rhino...

Dont listen to these
wanka%20smilie.gif
, Rhino - They're all just jealous cos you're buying a NEW bike. :f

The Eye Abuser isn't my cup of tea, (I still think it looks like a Babboons arse!! :}), but I must admit the pull of owning what is offically the worlds fastest bike is a strong one. - When someone asks what you ride, it doesn't matter if they know bugger all about bikes. You just say "Blah, blah, blah It's the Worlds fastest bike, blah, blah", and they are IMPRESSED and think you have Balls Of Steel !!!:yo:

Only fly in the ointment, Rhino, is that the Feckin ugly Kwak ZZR1400 will proly be quicker, then all the above will be irrelevant.

You'll just be ridin an ugly bike then !!!

Seriously Rhino, Look forward to it, Get it, Ride it, LOVE IT...

You have lots of friends I bet

Most of them have no idea and can't ride properly anyway.
Please tell me what riding properly means ?

Look at the quality of the questions
Maybe they dont mean too much to a perfect know it all, but to a simple rider like myself they are very helpful and down to earth, the sort of questions that a genuine motorcyclist might ask and not someone who thinks he is Valerie Rossi or something

The Busa is undeniably quick in a straight line but when I had one for a weekend I didn't get on with it at all. The riding position for me at 6'4" was crunched up in the leg department. The brakes were better than the Bird but felt wooden.

I've lived with a 2000 model Bird and a 2003 model ZX12, and for some reason I couldn't get the Busa to turn in for crap. In fact I found the Bird handled slighty better out of the box, although would expect suspension fettling to improve it no end.

The handling and braking of the 12R are in a different class to both Bird and Busa. Power wise both the Busa and 12R are a big jump up from the Bird.

I'm not biased towards the 12R (I don't ride at the moment) but IMHO out of the three it's the better bike. For me the Busa is like a more uncomfortable Bird with a load more power and de-linked brakes.

Test ride test ride test ride before parting with your wonga.

The BIRD has faults..

yep sure does.

but then again so does the busa rhino.

Clutch shattered / suzki replaced
CC tensioner
brakes are def wooden
rotors twice within 8000miles / suzki replaced first set only
brake hose burst /suzki replaced
3 sets of wheel bearings in 11000miles / suzki replaced first set
new rear tyre every 3months
seat cowl worked loose / suzki replaced
mirror fell off / suzki replaced
handlebar came off / suzki replaced
subframe cracked / had it rewelded and braced
nuts/bolt/paint all rusting or replaced paint peeling off

all the above is on my mates one, he has just done 16000miles, rides like a pussy, inside outside you can choose where and when you are gonna take him. no wheelies, no burn outs etc etc. just normal slow pussy riding except in a straight line when he will then open it up abit.

I do like the engine :yo: :yo: i hated the brakes, the seat pad was comfortable, the wind blast is a pain in the feckin arse, the weight is not that much different from the bird but it carries it lower, the mid range is  the mpg is worst than the bird, the pillion gets a rawer deal, and the in my eyes it is one feckin ugly bike, but that should not matter one bit to you.

also seem to recalled that a few of them in american blew their engines something to do with the oilways getting blocked or being too small.

suspension is only better because it is adjustable, it still wears off quick, the injectors need balancing regular.

Aint trying to put you off john just letting you know what has happened to my mates one.

Some of the questions and cost cutting questions asked by the numpties are NOT from a genuine motorcyclist. Some are just palin SCARY.

nope they are from car drivers who have passed a bike test, BUT we all had to start somewhere mac. didnt we???
