AS it appens!!! I must admit when sitting upon the one at "T" show tuesday it did feel "inviting" and being a "little" short in stature  I was also able to touch the floor with BOTH feet "yes including my poorly one! and I was assured the old "alloy" subframe was now a thing of the past, and the finish did seem to come up to at least the "birds"
still I shall let John do the ground work as to it's reliability and overall finish pending the "new" bird!!

The subframe is steel..

The seat is 15mm lower than the BIRD but the ground clearance is greater.

There is an optional centre stand..

The exhaust is now stainless and alloy..

The suspension is better than the BIRD , being fully adjustable front and rear.

The paintwork is 10 times better than it used to be.

I'm no fool, ?8500 is a huge amount of money for a bike and i HAVE done my homework and asked LOTS of questions weighing up pro's and cons.

Cons: Errrrrrr, requires a whole new riding style, no HISS and errrrrrrr thats it.

My girlfriend wants one to replace her Blade & I can't come up with a decent arguement against it!
Wise choice buddy.
As for finnish, etc,............well, having been afiliated to a main Suzuki dealership for over two years now and having also once been a Suzuki finnish sceptic, IMHO and from what I've seen, I think it's on par with other manufacturers, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased a new Gixer750 a month ago! :yo:
If Honda is the benchmark :m , there is no doubt that the quality of their finnish was once superior, but the recent stuff (i.e. the last 5 years) is not exactly A1. I also firmly believe it varies from bike to bike & the Busa along with the Gixer range is top notch, equal to the finnish on the Gold Wing, CBR1000 & VFR range.
Enjoy the new tool John.

John I must say, I normally find it too bulbous - but the other day I saw a tricked up busa parked in London, and found myself walking around it. With few tarty bits it does look much better, quite good actually. Can you promess one thing when you have bought it please? Stop winging about tyres - thanks! w;;v

looking like a few more "traitors" to the cause John!! :} could this be the inevitable result of there NOT being a "new" Bird in the wings?? I suspect that more than a few will be considering "alternative" bikes in the near future with Honda's treatment of us "the bird buying public" in NOT upgrading or replacing the bird with a PROPER replacement
seems once again their "management" it seems has it's own agenda and like Rossi it doesn't include US!!! :dunno:

Its in the eye of the beholder, i prefer the look of the BUSA to the BIRD.
I like the swoopy lines and rounded curves as opposed to the slab sided look of the BIRD.
I also like the seat cowel which isn't an after thought, i like the upside down forks which reduces unsprung weight, i like the mid range wallop, the torque, the cult following, the accessories, the whole package.
I've been wanting one for years and now i'm gonna have one.
If i don't get on with it i'll sell it and buy something like the KTM Adventure or the DUKE Multistrada. g0551p

FB, in the real world of riding the BUSA won't eat much more rubber than the BIRD.. The magazine writers/editors claim stupid wear rates because they test the BUSA by canning it everywhere as the power is a revelation from most of the mundane stuff out there.
I will be riding it as i did the BIRD, steady mostly but its in reserve if i so wish.
I understand the torque will kill the rubber but gentle throttle will cure this.
I do know people with BUSA's and they don't whinge about the wear rate, i put it down to HYPE and rumour (as the Bird suffered for linked brakes).
The Suzuki also has hazzard warning lights (yeh yeh it needs them coz it will breakdown  ).

I don't a toss if people don't like it, its for ME not anyone else. :f

At this moment in time the Busa does not appeal to me, but I am not everyman, I am perfectly happy with my BB, if the day ever comes when I am no longer happy with it I will get rid and get something that I am happier with, and that may even mean a Goldwing. at the moment Bev won't go on the back of the Bird whereas she may be tempted if I had a Goldwing, however whilst most of my time is taken up with work my needs in a bike outweigh Bev's wants in a bike, but I am retiring in less than 7 years and will have more time for Bev & Me to tour, so I will not say that the BB is the best bike in the world and the only bike for me, I will say, at this moment in time I am more than happy with it and am not considering anything else.

Good luck John, I hope your Busa rises to all your expectations and you have many thousand enjoyable, safe, trouble free miles on it.
