I`m very dissapointed also Buzz....this was a cracking deal and chance for anyone to improve their riding ability....please put me forward for the next one.

Chunky

Fookin typical aint it:rolleyes: , this was probably the best offer anyone on this site has ever had to drastically improve there riding ability and general safety, amongst friends with no pressure and expert tuition if wanted. I would have thought, that after the general bike dropping, hitting objects, rear ending, off roading, mid corner braking, indicator leaving on and wrong line taking that was witnessed on the bash ridout  , let alone all the people that crashed getting to and from the bash, there should be at least 80 bikes sighing up for this. :bang:

Please if you don't go on this "track day" do at least one this year, it will do your riding more good than you will ever realise and may just save your life one day!

if someone was to offer to pay for the 2 nights hotel, fuel, food etc i would have happily gone we are not all "armchai/barstool racers" you know

some of us have other commitments as well

i have done knockhill a few times in the past so i do know how much benefit there is and i have done some advanced riding days as well.

but the ?40 for the track time is just a little bit of it :loo:

add a couple tanks of fuel and some food etc etc and it turns in at over ?100
and thats just for an evening .

how much would it have been for me over and above the ?75 to do this one.

few hundred miles of fuel, couple nights B&B fry a set of tyres couple days off work etc etc

yeah i know all about prioritising and unfortunately spending a few hundred quid for 2 hours on a track has to come way down the list.
over the winter i guess i spent the best part of ?1000 gettin aviary built and falconry course and such like which might have paid for a few track days but i reckon ill get far more enjoyment over the next 40 odd years flying my bird rather than a few track days.

and as for the bird not being a low budget bike .......... i dont think its that bad to run its no more expensive than my VFR750 was and its cheaper than my FJ12 or ZZR11 and i reckon its even cheaper than my feckin diesel 405 to run

some of us have different priorities which doesnt make us all armchair/barstool racers

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh feck it i dont care what any of ya think. I dont want to spend that kind money on a track day and thats it man8um

Lumpy~~

Is that 5 chins Bert or 5 chins Rhino?? LOL

As for the cost of the track day? What about the cost of months off work / increased insurance premiums etc etc ?

A good Rider Skills Development Day with one to one tuition [if you want/need it] COULD avoid an "off" in future ride outs

Ask Cyclops what "price" he puts on a leg?

Each to his own I believe - what constantly amazes me though is the number of BIRD owners who really don't know the basic rudiments of bike riding

Damm powerful machine demands good riding skills and roadcraft

me thinks you might just be wasting your breathe Pete, but then again, we could just be wrong

Some people reckon they know all there is to know and don't need improving, most people realise there is a lot to be gained form track days. It's not all about racing you know? Repeatability and getting to know your machine you are only 10% capable of riding is what it's about.

ferk off Lumpy, I don't like it when ya talk sense :f :} Snetterton next Tuesday anyone? Nah, thought not

Still kickin' it!
All This Backchat Kinda Misses The Point....

... man8um If Buzz can be arsed (and I wouldn't blame him for giving up right now!), he might keep the cheques sent in by those of us who are genuinely committed to improving our riding skills for the next available date. That way, he has an opportunity to assess the shortfall on the required numbers, and to offer a limited number of places to attract the remainder (Alright, alright! Form an orderly queue!) Simple rule: No refunds under any circumstances (premature death excluded). Anyone pulls out - the day still goes ahead.

Bullshitters de-sist!!

Get yer ya-ya's out! :yo:

i cant see what the problem is with people not wanting to risk the chance of personal injury or major damage to there bird
the members on here are a fraction of people who own birds in the uk and i bet the majority of riders have no intenction of doing a track day ever
also if you are shit on the day the piss will be ripped for the next 20 years on here
doing a track day will encourage you to go faster on the road (not everyone) and risk injury even more imo
trying to convince people to do a track day when they clearly dont wish to do it is wrong imo
maybe the 1 to 1 training should be clarified a little expence wise for the peeps wanting to do it but are tight on funds...
is the 1 to 1 included in the price or is it extra?
i personly cant see the relaysonship between doing a track day and roadcraft skills?..except maybe increasing there speed in corners/bends
i know eveyone moans on about people braking in corners..i used to do it quiet a lot myself but at the end of the day if your unsure you gonna make it round the bend they why not brake..save your skin and carry on trying to progress at your own speed/level
also i know a lot of riders go on about people slowing down or getting in the way on bends..well im sorry but in my book if you hit me up the arse because for waht ever reason ive slowed down then its YOUR insurance that will be couging up along with possible wreckless driving
surely most peeps have reached a certain standard before buying a bird..if they havent then that is there deathwish
if you cant make up the numbers for the day then why not have a bird/vfr track day and get some of the vfr riders along?

ok cue abuse now as per usual for this forum

I'm ready for it.....but while they're ripping the piss out of me, they're leaving some other poor fecker alone !!!!! :} :}

Never done a track day....this will be me first....after the event I'll make me mind up on whether they're for me......or not !!!!! :}

Head in the Clouds
I`ll make it easy for everyone. I will be the slowest, round the corners and on the straights, I`m not on a bird and I`m relatively inexperienced. I want to do a track day to build up my confidence and conquer the many demons I have about cornering. At some point in the past I have done something that now when I go round long left hand bends it scares the crap out of me.

Any one wants to take the piss aim it in my diection cos I`m man enough to take it(and my bike`s better looking than all your birds anyway  )

Isn't it amazing~~~~

The bollox that's spouted in here?

There's those who "walk the walk" and there are those who attempt to "talk the Talk"

Fact is Buzz [and myself] went to a lot of trouble and persuasion to try and get this EXCLUSIVE event off the ground

and it's had to be cancelled because we couldn't raise enough interest - sad really

Another fact is - doing a Rider Skills Development Day WILL improve not only a persons riding skill and ability [which one day might just save your life] but ALSO you appreciation of exactely what the BIRD can do - in a safe and controlled environment

No fear of cages - Gatso's - old ladies crossing the road - potholes

It's the old adage "Don't knock it etc etc "

Truth be known - there are a lot of bike riders [not just BIRDS] who are NOT safe to be on a powerful bike on the roads due to their lack of "Roadcraft" as well as those who "hide" behind their keyboards
