Trouble with being away is you miss these amazing snippets of news. Have just caught this thread and have to agree with the majority sentiment about one law for all, PC stuff etc. Good one Rhino. Maybe I am better off in Daytona where at least if someone tries to enter my house/car/steal property illegally I can still shoot first and ask questions later and not get put away for upsetting the burglars "rights"!! With right and privelege also comes responsibility I believe. Amazingly in Singapore they dont have any of these problems as most lawbreakers are dealt with firmly on the first count and so civil unrest, race problems, major crime are all very rare (3 murders last year in a population of over 3 million people! Mind you, you will be hanged for possessing anything over 30g of coke or similar so it tends to focus the mind!

tried for years to remain unbiased and not fall into the trap of racism, I have to admit it is being made harder and harder.
I have worked on a building site in Glasgow where there was a big sikh lad he was an alright bloke to talk to but he couldn't keep up with the work with the rest of us. Rather than admit it was too much for him he branded the sight agent racist to the bosses of the employment agency. The agent had made a coment to the guy but no more than the rest of us, he was English and called us all jocks there was always a bit of banter and taking the piss. but the fact he was Asian got the site agent suspended the same day. The fact that he had 20 years experience a family to suport and had had no problems with anyone else on the site even though we were all from different backrounds (and we know a thing or two about sectarianism in Glasgow) made no difference. As far as I know the site agent was fired in the end.
Just one of many of my experiences and not the worst by far.
There was also recently the murder of a 15 year old white lad in an Asian area. The police and the local comunities said it was a gang thing and nothing to do with race. The lad was tortured for hours stabbed 17 times and set on fire while still alive. When they caught the Asians that did it they admitted in court in was racist they didn't even know him but had been in a fight with some white kids so got together and abducted the first white male youth they could find.
I'm still trying to be positive about integration but it isn't getting any easier.

Just to make a point here. I am not a racist and am far from ever being one. I very rarely vote so I put up with whoever is in government as they are all the sodding same.
However if I see a white person who is thieving, robbing, twoc'ing or whatever I class them as shitbags and scum and anything else I think of at the time.
If I see a traveller doing it, or a coloured person then they are pikey scum, or paki scum or whatever, the difference is I am being racist because I made reference to the colour of the skin or gender or race etc. But if I just called them scum I bet I would still be classed a racist.
I am not a racist, I am expressing my feelings and the unfortunate facts of life as governed by political crapness.

I told a man of Iraq nationality that he could NOT have 7 people riding in his Toyota Camry,, he told me that i was only saying this to him because his country was at war with his!!!!!!!!

I have a few black friends, a few Asian friends and i eat Chinese food,, i have NO issues with race or creed just ATTITUDE.
People in this country are being dictated to and TOLD not to be racist, this kind of thing will eventually backfire and people WILL make a stand and there WILL be the rivers of blood spoken about. We are being suffocated by all this political correctness and very soon we realise.
If the government make the playing of the race card more difficult then people will gel more readily as it will cut the preferential treatment handed out.

You are absolutely right there lumpy, as a kid I was forced to go to church by my mother, it was only after her death (alchoholism) that I realised what a sad lonely woman she was, my dad was in the Raf and only came home some weekends, my mother had to bring four boys up virtually single handed the second eldest being mentally handicapped, she used the church as a crutch, and to this day I regret not talking to her about her alchohol problem, even though my brothers had tried various methods to get her to stop including watering down her sherry, she died four days before my nineteenth birthday and I often think how she would have loved her granddaughters if only she could have hung on for another couple of years, the way I see it is not only did we her family let her down but also the church let her down, we have to live with that knowledge the church pass it off saying at least she is at peace now.

I was taking my lunch time walk, I trying to do my 10,000 steps to avoid being called a fat bugger. The walk meanders through Warwick Cemetry as the Office is just next door and there is Mermorial stone to John Enoch Powell MP.
There is always a good tribute at the foot of it.
