Why the hell anyone would buy a 4 by 4, for private use is beyond me :wank: :dunno:
There are a'lot better cars that'll do the job just as well and more comfortable, even a (new) Transit, that i'd give me right arm for, every day use.
Or is it a statement of the way of life, you would like everyone to think you have? (having not seen your house, that is) %$fan

Having said that, if you have caravan (more than 10' long) your excused

Quite true 'LIMPY' some of us even buy an 'AUTOCOM' so we can talk to the people we are riding with.
We could just hire a minibus for the day and ALL pile in it and chat away, saves the money on expensive bikes / boys toys dunnit.

As for SILVERONE, i know exactly what he means about the Tranny van, very good to drive and oh soooo practical however i do like the driving position in the 4x4's and their versatility for everything, especially getting into the great outdoors when the weather turns ugly.

The way things are going most privetly owned 4x4 won?t get any further off the road than their owner?s driveways, not that the majority do anyway.
As for on the rare occasions when it snows in this country, their's still not much advantage in having one unless it was legal to drive it on the pavement as everyone in front of you is stuck anyway.
Iv had 3 in the last ten years (I still have) provided by work, as the nature of my job/area involves getting to inaccessible places that you average vehicle would not reach. Some of my colleges with more accessible sites have Tranny's but when they need a 4x4, we temporary swap over, they are all very happy to get their Trannys back.
Because when on the road every little bump is 10 x worst than a car/van, they tend to have fook all load capacity and the worst point of all, is they have no where to put ur mug of tea, unlike your average plush Tranny.

As for the fook off tablet Martin, I?ll take it's in the true nature of this forum ?general piss take & wind ups? as it looks like I hit a sore spot about the caravan ?I didn't know you had one? :dunno:  :f

I'd have had a "transit" given the choice, comfortable quick and you can carry a decent load in em!! similar in "driving" hight as a 4X4 and probably more economical, even the cops use em!!

I'll own to having had one of those Suzuki Vitara thingys a good few years ago. Actually did take it off road a number of times on organised instruction days. The courses were run by the guy from one of the 4x4 magazines at the time (think his name was Tony Parrot or something).

I have to say that thing actually did manage some amazing things. It also lasted a very long time..... more than twice round the clock when I sold it on.

Remember the chap on the intructions courses slagging off the LandRover Freelander thingy's..... said if anyone ever tells you how ggod the hill control thingy is and that it means you don't need proper low ratios etc then just ask "how the fecker ever got up the hill in the first place"...

As far as im concerned I meant every word, I didnt mean it as a piss take I meant to upset you. Full stop.

I have never met you, so just where do you get off on trying to sumarise my life style just cos iv bought a 4x4. Its wankers like you that I really cant abide. Perhaps you should have found out a little more about me before deciding to make up your own opinion.

Now like I said before, fuck off and bother someone else, cos im getting a little irratated with you.
