that's because he is stuck on the hard shoulder of the M62, having ignored the obvious, most common Bird issues that are likely, sorry, extremely likely, to have caused the problem.
Ooops, just had an update....Geoff Boycott agrees with Derek, it is watered down petrol that is causing the problem.
So why did it start on the bump but not on the battery? :-0)

Couldn't be stuck on the hard shoulder of the m62 as that is several miles from my route home, I usually don't even use the m1 as there is a nice twisty route home using back roads.man8um
