Right, then... so I'm reading these instructions from R&G before I fit their sliders on my R1....

Unfortunately, they are written in British..... d34l

So exactly WTF do they mean when they refer to the "nearside" and "offside" of the bike? :dunno:

"Nearside", as in the "near" side of the bike you mount up on, as in the the LEFT side?

Since the "offside" bolt is 10mm longer than the "nearside" bolt, I'd rather not run it into the engine block by inserting it into the wrong bloody hole! :bang:

Help a dumb Yank out, please.....

Yes is the easy answer. Nearside is left, Offside is right.

Now, if you collonials would only drive on the correct side of the road you would know that nearside means nearest to the kerb. :p (sorry, I don't know the American for 'Kerb')

No. (Thats why I said drive on the correct side, ie the left)

But then, in a country where the height of technology is a Harley, do you think they would notice.

or the space shuttle.

Neglecting the fact that the Space Shuttle has been in service for 25 years (sh1t, I'm getting old, I remember staying up to watch the 1st mission launch & landing) and was designed in the early 70s, I take it that my attempt to be humerous, ok, facetious, fell on its face. :xm

I'll get back in my box then.

Thanks again, dudes, I managed to fit them without punching a hole in the engine block.... :}

Damn, the R&Gs are some big bastards.... here's the "offside" top and clutch guards:

The "nearside" top and swingarm pivot guards:

Finally, the rear swingarm bobbins:
