Anyone any experience of this device? :dunno: I'm looking for a unit that is transferable between the bikes and cars and having done a bit of research, this unit seems to be well rated.

Have used the old version in the car for over a year, works really well apart from detecting mobile radar i.e the ones on top of motorway bridges, does not seem to detect these, but saying that they are only supposed to detect these if they have a fix on you! - maybe never had a fix on me? Not sure how well it would work on the bike as you may not notice or hear the warnings.

Snooper

I've been using a Snooper S4 Neo in the car and have the same experience as Howard- it's never gone off with a mobile Laser but there again -I've never been done.

The Snooper is a little smaller than the new Angel and the new S4 one seems to have Europe mapped too. I've not used and Angel but the Snooper was smaller and cheaper so that's the one I went for. I believe the Angel has similar but slighlty higher functionality. I figured that with all the cameras on the roads some sort of GPS device is more of a necessity than a luxury- the cost of a single fine and the additional insurance on the bike and car for a few years must equate to the purchase price. I look on it as just another road tax.

Haven't used it on the bike yet as like Howard I don't think I'd hear it on the bike. If you have an intercom it'll plug in to then it should work just fine.

Didn't think the S4 and the original Angel could pick up mobile radars :dunno: ; that's partly why I'm considering the new Angel. Also, they do a bike kit for it, you can attach an ear piece to it and if the unit is mounted under your seat, so you can still receive the GPS signal via an external antena.
There is also a company making a flashing device which can be easily mounted on the inside of the fairing and is triggered by the Angel. However, Ben is right though Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five are rocking this month :B

I used the Road Angel for a time (my Brothers) and thought it was great. Only had one false alarm at 110, but it turned out it was at a favourite site of the Lincs Police mobile team on the A46!(potential mobile site are listed). A friend has one on his Bird and it fits under the double bubble a treat. I think you can also buy extra sensors to fit on to the rear of the bike to aid laser detection. I'd certainly reccomend it.

the snooper would be better,i have one and it fits on top of the instruments,i have a double bubble screen,it also has a ear piece socket on it for motorcycle use,it comes with 2 power cords ,a hard wire and cigarette socket and it can be mounted with velcro,i have the s4 which is the one i would recommend

the s4 can pick up mobile radar as well as most other detection systems

ive been using the snooper s4neo,ive fitted this onto my bike using the supplied velcro pads and sits on top of the instruments with a double bubble screen, the snooper has a ear piece socket for use on motorcycles, and it picks up all the speed traps the other models pick up and also radar and laser(radar with an additional sensor) the display is easy to read on a motorcycle and it has a gps speedo on it,snooper also has a 5 year gaurantee so long as you keep paying the subscription

Joe..... check out the Origin b2 as well. It provides the most comprehensive info out of all of them - on a decent sized screen too. Not sure about bike fitting though. Have a looky here before you decide (The Origin is the one I'm going for - it's that good I'll find a way to make it work on the bike as well)

www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/index.htm

Laser detector function doesn't really mean anything cos when the device warns you - it's too late... they have already got a speed reading on you (0.4 sec is all they need). The only way it can work for you is if you use it in conjunction with a diffuser/ (jammer) which works much faster than the 0.4 sec, but that's big shit if you get caught.

whats wrong with riding round with your eyes open :dunno:

That's no fun Bob - I likes to sleep a little when on me Sofa :p
Thanks for all the other feedback. Solo rider, based on the research I've done, the Snooper seems to have more false alarms than any other unit - is this your experience? :dunno:
Rob, we'll talk next week at the Derby
