O.K. The rack does look very simple but dont be fooled, the side winglets are not flimsy at all, it took me a few goes to figure out that the grab rail had to go to keep the rack as slim as possible very important also the winglets are not bent verticaly as this was slightly weaker than at an angel as on Mk3, As for the weight the Mk3 version on my BB took my full weight 16.4st with out bending on my test rigg.
As for the BBs rear frame well I look at it this way Its Honda and not one of those Su-suki Hi-ive-BUSTA sub frame jobies
Now as I dont intend to carry 16.4st or stand on the rack whilst the bike is in motion (NEAT TRICK THOUGH) I wont be losing any sleep over its structural integrity me thinks.
Not with standing, all that the single track roads around the very top of Bonny Scotland could throw at it, it past with flying colours I'm on to a winner with it.
P.S. I alway tend to over engineer what ever I make even my very first bike had a top box and a cobbled together rack and yes it went off road.
