2001 FIREBLADE RR-Y (Y) reg Blue/Red/White

Bought the bike a few days ago but i don't get on with it as i find it too small.
(I'm in excess of 6'2" and of large build.)
I was looking for a bike for summer to replace my recently sold BLACKBIRD but the BLADE simply won't fit the bill.

Bike has some service history, original can & Micron inc, mot/tax until April, handbook, tool kit.
Bodywork is mint, rims will be polished up again along with the can.

I'm really not too arsed about it, if i end up without for this season then so be it. Its ok around the town but its really not designed for a 19 stone eejit onboard.
Shame as its a lovely looking thing.

It can sit in the garage until summer if need be, gimme time to polish the alloy bits.

sh1tehppns dude, I thought the CBR600 was too small for me but after 1600 miles over the last 3 months I decided otherwise

Its her indoors that dont like the pillion on it so its a p reg blade in the offing as she likes the rear seat

CHUFF, it's a really nice looking thing but we don't get on.

It still comes down to the big '3'

XX, GSX1300R, ZX12R. I bought it on impulse as with everything i do, sometimes ya win, sometimes ya don't. sh1tehppns

fcuk, me and robbo agreeing

One weekend aint enuff, if anything, my riding has improved going back down to the 600. and it took a lot of adjusting to having to use the gears a lot more, and rev it way past 11k to make it go

and as you know, i am 6ft3 and 19 stone mesen, so i am a tad large for a 600 in a lot of peeps opinions

I too bought on impulse, but have grown to enjoy the small bike syndrome

if i dont get a good price for the 6 it will stay, and i will buy a PROJECT blade instead

Waste of time IAN, i miss the bulk of the XX too much.
I'll trade it in against something at the end of the year if i don't sell private.

I'm sure i can sell it though, its near mint.

You've only had it a few days John, give the poor girl a chance! When I first got mine Blade, I took a while to get to like her - I missed the extra weight of the Bird which made it feel more stable and secure on the road than the Blade did, the Blade felt more 'skittish'. After a bit of time sorting the suspension (which dramatically changed the way she felt), I'm now well happy with her.

Sue doesn't bother going pillion anymore so her opinion doesn't matter, I've been to Europe on her without any probs and she'll keep up with Pete's 1200 on all but the longest of roads. She's SOOOOO much better on track than a Bird (or Busa, or 12R) and with the added benefit of moving her around the garage etc and her being so light, it's great! She doesn't eat up the rear tyre so quick either, and goes nearly as far on a tank of fuel. I'm 6'2" and 14 stone and even though Pete takes the piss and says it looks like I'm riding a minimoto when I'm on it, I don't care cause she's a great little bike bl4hbl4h

Have you really given her a chance to impress you yet??

I did about 80 miles on it yesterday and there's no way on this earth i'm gonna be able to live it.
It's skittish as Russ says but then i'm used to them squirming around and that doesn't phase me one bit. Its the angle i'm at when riding that screws me up, i'm not designed to pilot a Blade.

I took it around some of the roads i used to thrash the XX on and indeed the Blade was more agile and not at all unsettled but i found it more of a chore to look ahead up the road because of the angle of my head being un-natural.
Some people have problems with comfort on the Bird, i found the XX to better than the car for comfort. :violin:

Seriously John, give it a little more time. Make yourself go out and ride her and you'll be surprised at how quickly you get used to it.

Since having my Blade, I've ridden a XX and I've also ridden a CBR600F and after each ride I couldn't believe that I used to hoon about on bikes like that. The riding position felt bloody awful being sat so upright and they were so soft! How could I ride quickly whilst being sat on my favourite sofa? It's much easier with the Blade, it does everything the Bird did (except carry hard luggage, granted) plus more besides - I wouldn't go back p0pc0rn41

Will you buggers shut up fer christ sake.

Its lovely this, and lovely that, it handles great and is so light.bl4hbl4h

My feckers been in the garage since the end of November and I still cant get a rider on the bugger  .

All of this talk just makes it even harder, wish me leg would get right.

Bad news is that nearly 5 months down the road, the consultant isnt happy with my leg and wants to do the whole operation again :xm , seems the bone isnt healing as the gap is too big.

Will know more on Thursday when I see him again.

Oh well, sh1tehppns eh?.

Only kidding about shuting up, I love to hear how good they are really  , bring it on...

And would you let me test drive your Chelsea Tractor for 80 miles off road so i know if it all works???

I rode it around the estate to make sure the bits worked and it was fine, however the further into the ride i got the more unsure i became.
