HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toots has got a job at the moment in the Aston?Lozells area of Birmingham (where all the agro is happening). She has to get to work at 6 and leaves her car sometimes on the street. So when she decided to get a second car coz our Mercedes was a prime target there she bought a use a few times and then throw it away car, so nobody would cry when it got torched etc.
This little Micra was one owner from new and had been well looked after.
It has run well and used hardly any petrol at all.
However it had a small problem the fuel filler pipe had a quite big hole where it had rusted away. I fixed the pipe and all was well till last week. as toots came back from a gig the thing started to mis fire and then cut out. She phoned the AA but 45 mins later when she tried to start it, it ran perfectly. It then cut out the next day on me and I managed to nurse it home, after putting petrol in it it seemed ok, then it died on Toots again and it wouldnt run for more than a couple of miles.
I started work on it today .
The tank was full of shite and water so I took it off and cleaned it out( the last owner gotthe thing sprayed with oil each year so I got covered).
The HT leads were shorting out so I gave it new ones.
The plugs were shitty and the wrong gap so I cleaned and re gapped them
The air filter was black and shitty so I put a new one in.
The points were pitted and I couldnt even see them opening so I gave it a new set and condenser too.
I thought that seeing as I had done all that I might as well give the ungratefull thing a new ballast resistor coil as well which I duly fitted.
I cleaned the crud off the inside of the distributer cap and cleaned the rotor arm .
There are 3 fuel filters in the fuel line and all are ok.
I checked the auto choke and it seems to be working ok
I put it all back together went for a drive and after about 4 Miles the fecker died and I had to nurse it back again.
Has anyone got any ideas coz I am a little baffled and the thing is pissing me off!!!!!!!!!!!! 8l1nd 8l1nd 8l1nd
