I find there's not much difference between the Avons, Bridgestones or the Pirellis as long as they are fried in dripping....

Can't be doing with that limp wristed, namby pamby, politically correct, non fattening (allegedly) vegetable oil shite.

Ya can't beat it on a chip either

are the avons bad in the wet as certain peeps make out???? or without wanting to cause a fight, were / are you just caught out in the rain which you dont normally ride in.

as an all year round rider, the bike even went out today, well i had to test the new hugger, cheers jaws , i need to get CONFIRMATION that the avons are ok in the wet.

I have total confidence in the 020's I have on now in the wet , i know exactly when they are reacing there limit, and spinning them up is a controlable experience :t

So will the Avons be up to the job ( pair of ) or should i stay wih the 020's
( the rear is nearly fecked so it will just need a rear. )

Advice greatfully recived, I fitted 020s last time on advice, now every6one is heading to avons

did try prielli diablos but went thru a rear in 3.5k during the wet season :neenaw:

Wolfie

Is a lunp
I ride all year, avons tip in quicker, have had both sets spin up, slide out on me, but i ride on the shitest roads in the country.

stick with the devil YOU know or try a new devil, what is good for one is shit for another etc etc,

i tried the avons last year after my mate had them on his 955i and we went from being fairly evenly matched to him leaving me in the corners(it was summer!!) put the avons great.

I ride like a wuss going to work in the rain on any tyre so can't tell you if they are any better or not.

I really hate riding in the wet.. makes be very nervy..

Last year on the way to Italy it was the dead of night and we were late getting to Rovereto..
Lead man had the hammer down and we were going large.. fookin pegs scraping and all sorts.

When we get to the destination lead man walks up grinning..

Thought you did not like the wet ?

I dont !

Well we chased rain over the last 20 miles the roads were more like swimming pools ..

Dooh !!!!

Soooooo

I stand on what I have said before.. No issues at all in the wet..
I also would say that I am not too keen on them in damp conditions.
But being realistic that could proly be said about any tyre. A damp road is usually still covered in a nice sheene of oil !

In fact thinking about it.. Something musta made me twitchy in the wet, and up until 18 months ago I used nothing but Bridgestones.. ( which I was happy with apart from the way they square off no matter what you do ! )

So there is a bit of a mystery. I am reluctant in the extreme to lay blame for my paranoia on the Bridgestones as I reckon they are a bloody good tyre anyway.. but on the other hand I have a LOT more confidence in the wet nowadays... very very strange.

I think you should at least try the Avons mate, if they`re a freebie..what have you got to loose ????
I`ve had no issues at all....and as jaws say`s all tyres are a little suspect in the damp as the road is niether wet or dry ( if that makes sense).....
