Intercoms ?

Yet another question that has probably been flogged to death ! :bang:

However, I am looking at getting one, just for me and the missus (no phone, MP3 or any of the malarky thank you!)

Just wondered what the best one ?
Where's the best place to get it from ?
How easy to use and fit ?

Answers on a postcard ......................... :yo:

While everyone raves about Autocom, I would like to add that Starcom have been fantastic, after sales service excellent, so I would suggest those are the 2 makes to look at ( And Bikers Oracle members get discount with Starcom)

WE have a Starcom on the bike and cant fault it, normal talking at warp speeds!!

Haven't tried Starcom, but having spent loads over the past few years on lower-priced sets (each one lasting about a year on average) we bit the bullet and got Autocom. Absolutely the mutts nuts

AUTOCOM, but make sure your lid has deep enough ear holes as some crush the ear up against the speaker and are painful to wear any length of time.
A mate has a Shark helmet and cant stand it for much longer than an hour without stopping to take it off.
My Arai (and my girlfriends Arai) is superb, and dont even notice it when not using it.

Autocom

Yea PP I've got mine fitted in my shoei, plus my wife has the same.... but we have got two helmets each one for touring and one for everyday riding...I do think some helmets are good for ear phones and some are not. Its interesting that Autocom show only two types of helmet ?
PS I have also taken my Autocom of my old Fazer 1000 and put it on my Bird.
very easy to do also.

Starcom do the earplugs with speakers in, take a bit of trimming of the plastic earpieces to get a snug fit in the ear, but once done very comfy even in a tight helmet, and the sound quality is brilliant, also come with small rubber grommets that seem to allow a certain amount of out side noise through, so you can tailor them to how quiet you want the plugs, ie so you can still hear horns etc.
