do you also own what is underneath the land???, to what depth do you own??? what happens if a person on the other side of the world owns the land dead opposite yours does both of your lands meet in the middle???? Why should your land taper at the end??? surely you own x square miles all the way down to the centre??? do you own that part of the underground lake/gold stream/coalmine etc???

being Mr boring here ( nowt new there then ! ) the answer to the original question is no, you do not own all that lies beneath your land.
I have no idea if there is a certain depth you own or any of the rules and regs governing it.. but if for instance there is water under your land in the eyes of the law the owner of the water ( How fookin ridiculous is that ! ) is the local water authority. Hence the need for a licence to extract water from a bore hole on private land.
The same aplies in the opposite direction.. i.e. up in the air.. A guy ran some long insulated rods along side some high power overhead cables. He said that as the cables were radiating voltage into the air above his land it belonged to him. Courts decided agin him ( big surprise there then ).
