yup it is being traded in for a Volvo...dont laugh..check the specs first :bow:

if anyone on here is thinking of buying a post96 merc..then dont do it!!!!!!!!
you might as well go and buy a 79 fiat..cos its gonna rust less!
14 months of worry..will they wont they etc etc all behind me now
clinched the deal yesterday :bow: and the fooking merc alarm system packed up as soon as i returned from up north..the very same journey (wonder if the car knows?)

bastard fooking cars merc are

and in case your wondering..97 merc bought from main dealer..14 months =....
2 new rear doors, 2 new front wings, new boot, respary bonnet twice, respary roof, respary rear wings twice!, respary passengers door, replace engine mountings, replace front light surrounds, replace front cross member, replace bonnet catches, all due to poor manufacture and basic lick of paint..these cars rust from under the paint with no external damage to the paint what so ever
and as for the running rails chassis %$fan scarpyard in 24 months springs to mind

Serious spec there Reefer ! But ovlov is a particularly dirty word to me at the moment... managed to write of Maureens little fiat today cos the fooker slammed it all on for no reason and I was in muppet mode ( might as well have had someone working me cos I was NOT paying full attention to the road so deserved it I spose )
The Fiat had:
both wings folded in and down, both inner wings and front chassis members the same.
front cross member bent right in taking the rad with it and crushing same.
Both headlight and indicators gone.
Engine mount casting snapped completely off the front of the block.
Bonnet folded in two, both door pillars pushed back
both doors folded up and sills bent slightly

Total damage to the ovlov...
Scratched the paint on his tow bar and chipped a light lens ( did not even crack it, just chipped a corner out of it less than 2mm in size )

Mo's Fiat was not a 79 one but it was gettin on a bit.. a 87 Uno Sport
Bout the only sporty thing left is the speakers I managed to salvage before leaving the sad fookin remains at a scrappy ! :violin: !!

..mind you its lucky you wernt in merc..might have been injured then too ..fooking crap mercs are these days..btw anyone thinking of buying one..first of all go see a shrink..then it wont be such a blow that your car is falling to bits because they make the fookers in INDIA,,yes i did say INDIA :bang: ..only the AMG are made in germany anymore..what next? Mate down the road from me has a C70 coupe, its been tuned by Tom Walkinshaw, apparently it kicks out a lot of BHP, cant remember the excact figure, but I do know it will just top 200mph!

Best part about it, is the guy who owns its was in a bike smash a few ago, and is paralysed from the chest down, he drives it on hand controls, I have to admit to declining a ride in it, but am tempted to go to Brands with him on a car track day.

....................funny you should say re: Mercs. A chap I know bought one recently when he retired to 'see him out' and he's had nothing but trouble from day one - clock not working, alarm probs, computer probs ABS probs - all electrickery type things but a real nausea inducing experience.

Quite happy with me Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7 V6 - cheaper than a Freelander, bigger, better and fully loaded - bargain: Residuals ? crap ! but I'm keeping it !! LOL

after potting about in the C70 i noticed a cute little S60 saying test me test me..so i did :blush:
and the new baby is...a S60 :bow: ..T5 of course :bow:
much higher spec and every gizmo you could ever want
codbasher..you havent got to convince me..just compare the specs of the T5 to most other quick cars..it speaks for itself..and they take so nicely to much higer spec turbos just bolting in place with a little remapping of the ECU
