In most cases in the UK you'll not see the full effect of the Aurora with the naked eye, unless it's particularly strong. Last night was exceptional.Apparently we had a splendid and freak display of the Norther Lights down here around midnight last night.. I looked out the window around 2:30am and all I could see was black and stars. Typical.

You do see it quite well up here but for best results whip out your phone and set your camera settings to night mode then you'll see it fairly well, although photos tend to really show the full effect.
You need to blag a lift with Malone the next time he heads up Scandinavia way.
