fooking plod!!

got this little a class sports merc at the mo (loan car) was brand spankers apart from a few fishing trips :blush:
its insured by mercedes...
250 excess
potting along today at lunch time doing the friday curry run and plod comes tearing towards me at some fooking silly speed, swerve to avoid an island and car going the same way as them, so they squeeze past me (doing 35ish) and the car in front of them which puts them on the hazzard lines off the back of the crossing(one of those walk round ones with the fencing all aorund...
stone or something flicks up off there wheel about 1ms before i here a cracking noise %$fan
and yes ta very much mucho el piggo one cracked merc screen with 1850 miles on the clock :B
so im gonna be 250 quid lighter upon returning the car in a few weeks :bang: :bang:
just one of those things i guess..but if plod wernt driving like nutters then it wouldnt have happend and i could have enjoyed the currry afterwards :rant:

Did he have the lights and sirens going Simon ??? :dunno: I know it's a bummer, but he could have been on his way to a emergency that required him to make a bit of 'progress'.

Is it a crack...or a chip in the screen ??? No chance of a quickie repair ??? Can you find a place that could fit you a screen for less than ?250...... and get it done before you return the car ????

There is a hell of a lot of markup on screens. I'm in the trade and get at least 80% of retail price. Phone a few up and call youself " Reefer Motors" or something you may be surprised. It will be cheaper than the excess.
