you could get her to do the CBT, and maybe a few lessons, and see how she goes from there,!!
Tina has a 125 and finds any and every excuse NOT to ride it,
UNfortunatly "for me" she loves being a PILLION!! :bang:

My missus did her 'home' training on a Suzy GS125, had no probs with it at all, in fact its such a good little runner that I have kept it for riding to and fro to work on, saves the mileage on the BB.

dave,,, canna help with a bike mate, but would recomend avoiding two strokes !
A four stroke is easier to learn on and can be far less intimidating mate..
CG125 or similar I would say.. Always flog it and buy a sportier something afterwards.

I'd avoid a CBR600 and go for a CB600 (A Hornet, uses a de-tuned CBR engine). Far easier to learn to ride on and without the fear of her scaring herself silly.

answer first Dave, Tinas got a Suzi gp125, 1984 I think,
and I reckon bish bash bonk has the right idea with the hornet, easy to maintain, cheap "ish" to insure and parts, easy to ride, lots about so spares are cheap to find, low seat, "can be trimmed as well" and not too heavy,

Floozy will be using a Honda CB500 this year to commute to work, round trip of 80 miles a day, using this to gain experience, she will look around in the autumn for the next progession, but she wants something with a fairing for her 'posh' bike. Something like a GSX600F.

Do a DAS then get a CBR600. I did (but got the CBR600 first) and the CBR fills you with confidence after the school's ER5's. Now I'm gonna get me a newer CBR600 :-:

And Coddie, get Floozy one, they're awesome! I find I'm far more stable (less wobbly) on the CBR than on the unfaired 500s. g0551p

This will come as a suprise to certain people but I have had some bikes including a GSX750F which cant be much different to a 600 I would reckon? My advice would be avoid, its air/oil cooled and on short journeys getting it to tickover was a fekin nightmare! My ex had an old nsr for a bit of practice but didn't use it much and did her das then got a GPZ500s which she loved and my ZZR6 which was a bit heavy but a big hit with her. She aint sure about trying the Blackbird WHEN I get it though!

Direct access then 600 Bandit, cheaper insurance than the hornet, and a nice bike to ride.

My first bike was a CBR600 ('89). It was a wonderful machine to start on. Insurance was a bit steep though.

My g/f hadn't ridden anything other than a scooter up to 4 years ago.
She took her CBT and rode a VFR400 for about 3 years and now has a RRY Blade which she commutes, track days and basically acts the hooligan on  She's doing the wheelie school later this year and want's me to teach her how to get her knee down this summer  (she's already purchased the titinium knee sliders!)
I think the CBT/CBR600 route is an option, but I don't think you should underestimate the power of a 6.
