That reminds me of a tale my mate tells.
He was working on refueling at RAF Valley when the Red Arrows were doing a display in North Wales and landed to take on fuel before a display. Because as he put it the RA ground crew were 'poncing about' he proceeded to fuel up just as he would for the training Hawks filling the tanks to the brim. It wasn't until he had finished that the ground crew questioned how much he had put in the tanks. Apparently RA only fuel up with sufficient gas, with reserve of course, for the display they are doing, which in this case was just a quick hop up the coast to Llandudno or Rhyl. The ground crew were told in no uncertain terms that unless instructed otherwise all aircraft were refueled to maximum!
