DVD burning software, what do you use????

Okay, I am set up beautifully with my new DVD re-writer, but am having problems with software.

Basically I want to make a movie slideshow with transitions, music, titles, and of course jpegs.

So far I have used Magix, which appears to be a big problem as it will not burn on my drive (still corresponding with Magix)

Next up Intervideo WinCD CReator, came with my new motherboard. Tried it this morning, and yes it does work and is not bad, not as flash as Magix. However, it just crashes all the time.

So what do you use? What do you think of it? Is it stable?

I used WinDVD until I got Magix, and so far have had no probs with it. If you can get over the burn issue you should find it quite a good prog. If you can't resolve it, try Roxio, not quite as flashy as Magix but very stable.

Good Luck!

HI Bazz

I really like the Magix, very stable and excellent facilities in it. It just won't go to the burning process! Its a shame that the programs are not interchangeable, and then I could burn the DVD using another program after producing it with Magix!

I have had a lot of help from Magix, but there thoughts on uninstalling the drivers for my DVD are a bit daft as then I won't be able to use it!!

Nero 6 or Padus diskjuggler - both rock solid performers for simply 'burning' a disc, but to complie slide shows, transitions, combine movies, do special effects, titles etc, I use Ulead Video Studio 9 http://www.ulead.co.uk/vs/runme.htm

I used to use Pinnical 9 (solid perfomer) but it has limited capabilties.

Have you tried instead of burning straight to disc, to create it as a dvd file. Save that to your hard drive then use Discjuggler or Nero to burn it to disc. I do this to make back ups of my films and then when I need to run one off I go to the section of my hard drive where I've saved it and burn another off.

This helps if you havent got a dvd muliti-copier, that way you dont have to go through the whole copy process of copying a dvd then burning it.

Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5

Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 Review:
http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/213
Easy Media Creator 7.5 is Roxio?s latest and most complete burning product from Roxio. It has a number of features to copy and burn CD?s, all with easy to follow instructions along with numerous other programs to backup your PC and for transferring DivX movies to DVD?s.

Side note:
To make backup copies of DVDs try DVDFAB, it's the best I've tried to date (if you need 'help' with installing let me know).... DVD X Copy is good too, as is DVD Shrink (freeware)... I bought DVD Cloner, but is crap - doesn't support the lastest burners (as I found out after upgrading my system).

Is it a dual drive? If not and you still have a separate CD drive try removing all DVD drivers, and Magix, re-boot the puter, then re-install them both from CD.......worth a try, or the previous alternatives make good sense if all else fails, you'll just not have Magix with a new DVD drive!!

I have one DVD multi dvd writer
and one DVD rom drive.
So two drives! Oh, and the drivers for these products are not on CD rom but were basically from Windows, plug and play?

Explain to me exactly what you mean and why that would help????

It may well (hopefully) be that the driver files are corrupt; missing or damaged .ini file etc. More likely, given that you've used Bill Gates' plug n play shite, not item specific.

Check on the 'net for product specific drivers, download them and overwrite the existing files.

Failing that, deletion, re-boot then re-installing may correct the probs.

I use Nero to burn stuff, but if I wanted to create a standard DVD video for play back on an standard DVD Player I'd use Adobe Premier.

sorted.................

re-installed the Magix software and there you go!!!!!!!!! All that for nothing................Oh, well maybe a slightly less cluttered PC!!

Have to say, that the software has done a really good job.

Thumbs up for Magix customer support, might not have got to the problem but they were very attentive.
