Dark Angel
Still kickin' it!
...Well... I spent yesterday cleaning the Honda - and today I threw away all that effort as we took off for Devils Bridge. Most of the time was spent avoiding diesel spills and the inevitable "centreline" of muck left by farm tractors as we made our way through Gisburn etc. towards the Bridge.
Quite literally, it's years since I've ridden those roads and, with the leafless trees adding an extra dimension of unfamiliarity, I often felt a little lost as we threaded our way through the back-lane B's and I had to consult with Lorraine on more than one occasion.
Oh, how we laughed!
When we got there, it was quiet - but the butties and coffee make my mouth water just thinkin about 'em!!
I thought we were a bit mad until I saw the scuba divers -really!!
There were a few things of interest - a DN-01... Dint like it...
... A couple of perfectly-matched BMW riders...
...and a couple of "oldies" that looked as if they were going on a "tour"
The welcome was as warm as ever, though, despite the cold weather and a distinct lack of traction on the messy roads. We had a nice chat with a couple of blokes before heading off to call at Glasson Dock on the way home.
Lorraine took the opportunity to call in at the smoke-house and I took a similar opportunity to snap this Honda. It looked fantastic and I still can't understand why, if Honda can produce a stunning retro like this, they failed so miserably with the "looks" of the VFR1200.
We covered about 150 miles in all, on our little trek. We just managed to enjoy the ride home on drying roads and ever-so-slightly rising temperatures. It was a good end to the day; and it was good to be out together again, on the Blackbird.
..It was even better to arrive home safely with enough light and sufficient time to clean the bike - a-a-all over again Lollllz!!
