The oil used in a ScottOiler is just a better version of that used for chain saws.. Like chain wax it not only does not fling but does tend to work its way into chains.. However that 2nd aspect is of no consequence anyways, as the Bird uses o and x ring chain.. So no matter what we use we should, in theory, only be lubing the outside bits !
Mind you, I spose it must help keeping the rubber lubed. Must stop it wearing and chaffing away to the point it lets crap in..
