 Think my bike has broken driving along slowing down to turn changed down then diddn't have any power changed down again and hit gas still no power but a big backfire then pulled in clutched to rev it a bit and engine just chugged away before cutting out. I let the clutch out again to restart engine and it jsut about chugged and limped the half mile home sounding like a car with a cylinder not working. All the clocks and lights stopped working completely and the regulator has been very recently changed.

Does this sound terminal. bike is still under warranty but I would like to find out what is wrong so the garage don't fob me off with a third rate repair

Sounds to me like the battery has passed on !

Get it on charge over night and see what happens in the morrow :p

R reg bird. Had a new battery fitted by the dealer when I got it. The the regulator broke so the dealer fixed that.

Well, you can either sit there and tell us what has been done and not try anything, or try something and call me a twat if I am wrong ( which will be nothing new ! )

I would say its either battery gone awol or the reg rec ( new or not )

Went to see the dealer today he is going to pick the bike up tomorrow morning. The trouble is if it is the regulator its broken twice in a few weeks which gives me no confidence to ride the bike any distance in case it goes wrong again and I get stuck. Luckily both times its broke I have been close to home but if it had gone on sunday I would have been miles away with no AA membership and no way of gettting back.
