This one. 2000, Fuel injected, custom seat, MRA shield, hot grips

Thanks to P.O. Satin black front fairing (would have rather kept the scratch) with mismatched 4&6mm Allen bolts, no tank securing bolts under the seat and I’ve not looked at pics online yet but I may have last night discovered a home made CCT !! Oh and they for some reason used copper grease on the rad cap

Here's the questionable cam chain tensioner.
Believe it or not that is a commercially sold conversion..
And yes, it is as crap as it looks, and yes, they do wreck cam chains in short order cos no one bothers to go through the rigmarol of setting up properly

Looks like another trip to Honda is in order! I’ve never seen one like this before so I assumed it had been somebodies improvisation.

Jaws Motorcycles will sell you an updated cct at a sensible price. Should always be your first port of call.

It's always good to find out what is wrong with a used bike once you get your hands on it. My last one ran like a pig (K&N filter), weaved all over the place (no oil in one fork leg) and had a massive sticky bit in the chain (amongst other things). Made the 220 mile ride home in the pouring rain a bit buttock clenching.

Scarily the previous owner was giving it large during the buying process about his 140mph plus runs across Europe.........

Can see a lot of cash going that way.
I want flat bars, rear hugger and rad/oil cooler shrouds
Don't forget the HId, fender extender, led indicators, led dash bulbs, tank protector, crash bobbins, bubbble screen,, etc etc.

I only went looking for a CCT too. She is in a bit of a rough state so was going to be splashing a little. Comforting to know that my money's going to someone with an understanding of the bike rather than some anonymous questionable on Fleabay.

There are cct's that can be manually adjusted. I suspect who ever did yours looked at this quality manual one and thought aww feck it I'm too tight.

However as Jaws said, many forget it's manual so do not adjust it regularly or they sell the bike and do not tell the dealer/next owner. Next thing you know you have a bag o nails

I would absolutely swap that bag of shite on yours for the jaws upgraded automatic one. A good spend penny wise

100% with you there. Self adjusting = set up and forget. The PO did say he’d checked the valve clearances and replaced the CCT. Believe him as it’s the newest looking thing on the bike. Will be the newest looking thing in my bin soon enough

He was in love with a Bird but it kept breaking.. Aint been the same since

Corrected as above John.

Anyway, it is illogical to 'love' an inanimate object. You can make love to it if so inclined, but not form an emotional attchement.

That would be weird.

It is weird. When I got the full akro for one of my birds, my housemate, also a bike nut, was so impressed he said he wanted to take it to bed and cuddle it that evening. For obvious reasons I did not stand behind it when it first fired up.
