Have been on a Bikesafe day today, at The Warren near Bromley.
What can I say?
Well it was good from the word go, fun, serious never boring, and the ride out was brilliant, I learnt a lot about both myself and the bike today, how to make progress safely. 13 of us today and 7 cops, guess who copped (pun) the 1 to 1, yep me! Nerve racking to start with, but after the first stop, and being told that I rode well, good road position/hazard awareness etc, and was not a total muppet, I relaxed, did town work in the morning, then lunch at Biggen Hill then country work in the after noon, I improved my speed in the bends, and marvelled at the cool calm and collected way the cop on on a big Beemer made it look so effortless.
If you have never done one then do it, yes I was nervous, but these guys do put you at ease, give advise, have a laugh, the two women on the course today were over the moon with it as well.
Respect to the Met where its due as they are playing a big part in getting motorcycle deaths in London down.
