For gods sake lads - is this a blackbird site or a site for driving blackbird riders elsewhere.
I Log in most days - only to get more and more disappointed.
Ianrobbo1 you know the site is going down hill when you end up bored and spend time finding who is posting the dribble.

To keep things on the BB or biking track I've temporarily have 2 - a 2001 red & 2004 stealth black (formely belonging to an immigrant to the "Valleys"). Any other Irish members know of a prospective 2001 BB rider - it is mint

.

I'll keep logging on in anticipation of browsing for biking enterainment

Trouble is John if everyone posted only about Blackbirds would there be anything left to say :dunno: . I think it would become even more dull than some perceive at present.

This IS the coffee shop at the end of the day and is for things bike and general ramblings etc. :h

Other than the Blackbird, what else interests you? I expect we've covered it at some point lol!

As R2B2 says if we only stick to Blackbird related subjects the forum would become very static.

Someone on another forum I am on complained about the same thing and one of the US members came back saying that over the years we had sorted all the problems with the bike (Thunderace) and knew every variation or modification. So now we had all moved from the garage to the front room to relax with a coffee/beer and shoot the breeze. If any new memebers came into the forum and wanted some help in the garage he only had to holler to us in the front room and we would all lend a hand with his problem.

J'o'K,
It's a coffee shop where the bollox is posted!

I have only found 'V/Down' to be more lively than this site, maybe it has something to do with it being the end of the season, nowt much to report.

You'll all have something to say by March when the old XX's are dusted off and the usual "Ooh fook my battery is flat" gets posted and of course "Fookin ell it feels quick after my 4 months off"

This site is much more than being about a 'bike', its about friendship, laughter, help and general nonesense.

I don't even have a bike, i go to meets on the bus and take my gear so all the atendees think i've ridden in
Mind you, when EMMA's driving i need all the safety gear i can muster  .

Can't help but agree with what J O'K has said but....

A forum is only as good as what is posted on it and if you don't post interesting stuff you ain't gonna read interesting stuff. To me a forum is there to ask questions and to post something of interest. Just making a statement or posting the same old joke (such as FB's sexual preferences) tends to be boring unless it is thought provoking or downright funny.

I've read the complaint that there are too many guests and not enough people posting, but do we make it an easy place to post? As most of the regulars know each other personally, or have at least met a couple of times, there tends to be a lot of 'in' jokes and banter about things that a 'guest' knows nothing about. So not only aren't they going to join in, they may actually feel intimidated by this. :dunno:

I think to say that Birds have been talked to death only highlights how few regulars we have here.

I'm not suggesting that there is anything drastically wrong with things here, but some new blood never goes amiss, so maybe a few more threads with questions, less hijacking of threads, a little more patience with newcomers 'done to death' questions and simply stopping and thinking before starting a thread might help. Just thinking 'is this interesting/helpful' before posting might produce more replies and therefore provide interesting reading.

If anyone fancies giving me some stick about any of the above, please do, but can I just say that not only am I guilty of some of the above, but I also care about this site, and want to give to it as well as take from it.

Ah, you must mean the Help section or the touring section, or the rider skills section or the... well one of the other sections ..

As others have said this is the coffee shop.. It is the social area of the forum group.

There are lots of other sections to choose from for all the different aspects of XX ownership.

Perhaps I should rearrange the forums so the coffee shop is not top of the list ?

Course the coffee shop would still be the one with the most posts and the one most used but the emphasis would be moved to whatever the top forum on the list is ... and it would kinda buck the trend of most other forums but hey, you guys know me.. when did I ever stick to rules !
