Hate to say it but it sounds a bit of a mongrel to be honest...
I would not be too concerned about its history unless it is one of the restricted ones from France .. Only a 100BH allowed .
The braided hoses on the back was most likely fitted because the oem ones had gone manky
. Its fairly common .
As for the evaluation sticker.. Not sure.
Honda have never used 'evaluation' markers on anything ! Maybe you have an oddball aftermarket panel that someone was gonna produce but never did thanks to the change in the EU rules governing aftermarket parts :bang:
Couple of things...
What makes you say it is a french import ? It might have been a Euro one in which case it will be full power.
Count the teeth on the rear sprocket.. if its anything other than 44 you proly have a German specific one that went on its travels
Any chance of looking on the carbs and seeing what type is on the bodies ?
And on a less serious note..
Having read your posts several times now I am a bit baffled by two things..
One which you, Solorider, said (
and getting my shed converted into a garage so it will be near me so i can ride it
................
I would stick to riding the bike.. its more fun and you will attract less attention
And Silverone... Your comments really have me beat !
Dunno if I am going blind, batchy or what.. but I am buggered if I can find mention of Soloriders bikes colour anywhere mate ?
Silver ones were not available until errr... 2002 I think ( but stand to be corrected )
BTW Silverone, there is an interesting and true story about how the silver models came to be.
During a stock check for the millenium a small stockpile of the old silver paint that was used on the early VFR's was found.
Rather than dump it, it was tested for quality and when found to be still absolutely perfect, put up for use.
A meeting was held and they decided it had to be on a big bike and one that was a brand leader. Naturaly the Bird was the chosen vehicle.
Soooo,, basically what you have is the paont from a 19 oh dot VFR bike !! Sorry
!
