For several years I have been trying to trace an ex colleague who served with me on Hms Hermes and Mhq Mountwise. All I had to go on was that he used to live in Abingdon,
Today I typed Hms Hermes into google, and a link took me to Forces Reunited, so I signed up as it was free, My ex colleagues name came up but when I clicked on the link to contact him it wouldn't let me I had to be a full member, I thought here we go another scam to get money out of people, anyway I had a look and it was only ?7.50 so I thought what the hell and paid, I then clicked on the link and sent him an email along with two other ex colleagues, 21:30 sat watching waking the dead, phone rings, Bev answers it, it was only the Ex colleague that I had been trying to contact all these years. turns out he is now living in Newbury, so it looks good for a reunion.

I did a similar thing a while back and found an old pal who was in the RAF Police with me at Abingdon, hes now a Sgt copper in Barnsley !
