....but I would like to thank them anyway, whoever it was that discovered that cranberry sauce goes nice with Turkey. :lick: :lick:

Only in the UK it would seem Derek!

In the Med countries they it's quite odd that we add a sweet substance to a meat dish!

One of our little oddities I guess :dunno:

But they think nothing of making a dish with chicken legs,chorizo,shrimp, mussels/clams,lobster/crab claws & mixing it up with garlic, onions & stock. mind you it is very nice.

We went out to the pub for Xmas lunch (sod the cooking, washing up and whinging Mrs) and there was this little smear of chunky dark pink sauce......

....DK - I whole heartily agree - what a bootiful sauce to compliment the old Gobbler. I must admit to being pretty cheesed off, when I asked for the Branston, only to be answered by a negative grunt from the Slovakian waiter. I also asked him hwo much he earned on Xmas day - "They raised our hourly rate to ?6.00 per hour!" he exclaimed with enthusiasm...... :eek:

....we left a hefty tip, as the service was brilliant and for waiting on our 'challenging' family was certainly worth more that 6 sovvs per. :}
