One of the lads on site today suddenly stopped in his tracks and just stood there starring into space for about an hour and refusing to talk to anyone .He finally came round said he was ok and got into his van and drove off . Turns out he drove home and met his kids from school sat down with a coffee and died .

Struck a bit of a chord Eddy.

When I had my off they weren't sure I'd make it through the first night:eek:
(told me this much later)
Apparently my eldest,5yr old, threw a strop after a couple of days.

When Morag asked him why he said "It's because dads had an accident and he is dead and you wont tell me"
That's when Morag brought all three wee ones to see me in hospital, tubes everywhere and all.

Not trying to hijack the thread,
just seems a bit too close to home so to speak. I'm 35, wife & 3 kids.

Very sad to hear. Please offer our sincere condolences to not only the family and personal friends, but also you and your workmates who are often forgotten in these sad circumstances.

RIP

Soccer: Utrecht defender Di Tommaso dies aged 26

30.11.05 11.00am

AMSTERDAM - Utrecht defender David di Tommaso has died in his sleep aged 26, the Dutch first division soccer club said today.

According to media reports, the French defender suffered a heart attack at home on Monday night. He had a wife and one child.

"One thing we know for sure -- Tomaso was not taking doping products," a spokesman of the club was quoted as saying by the ANP news agency.

Di Tommaso started his career at Monaco and later played for French second division Sedan.

He was a member of the Monaco side who won the French title in 2000 but was not a regular, playing seven matches that season.

In July, 2004, he joined Utrecht from Sedan and played 31 times last season when he was the club's player of the year.

He had appeared in 13 matches this season, including last Sunday's 1-0 home league win over Ajax Amsterdam.
