Had a go a few years ago and made something drinkable but it did seem an awful lot of effort for the result.

I used a barrel with no extra gas cartridge and it went ok and saved on bottling it.

Also handy to have space in the airing cupboard and its a good excuse for disappearing off up the shed when domestic bliss isn't.

Good luck its worth a go.

Had a couple of pints of guest beer tonight Holy Thorn or something similar had a hint of vanilla! Very drinkable.

ps CAMRA website may have some helpful links.

Is a lunp
cheapest way of getting wasted.

40 pints for ?15 quid.

follow the destructions then double the sugar and add a wine yeast, much more alchol

dont bottle it too much work and space, use a ferment bin and a king keg. or just do wine and brain basters in demijohns.
