Ok With loud cans should we wear ear plugs or not, I dont know about you guys but I normally use plugs until they are black then chuck them, this is not good for your ears and I have had some infections recently.

Will the sound damage your hearing long term ?

YES it will damage your hearing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just as looking at an arc welder will screw your sight up in time.

I'm mutton in my right ear at the moment and have been for 6 weeks.
The doc said i had an infected lug hole and it could have been caused by putting wet earplugs in or having sex with goats.
Weird, as i never use wet ear plugs...

Best ones are the expensive made to fit plugs like GYPSY keeps losing,, simply follow him for an afternoon and save yourself ?60.
I do a lot of shooting with shotguns and i wear big industrial ear muffs but you'd look a twat trying to get your lid over them.
Use cheap foam plugs and throw them away each day.. ?5 for a bag of 100 from M&P.
Cheaper than a prescription for eardrops and all other medical bollox.

EHH, WHAT DID YA SAY?

I used to use the foam plugs, but then had some of the custom earplugs made up. Wish I'd done it sooner - they're more comfortable and cut out more wind noise. You can also have a cord attached to them - then you can lose both of them instead of just one :}

get the moulded ones if you can afford them........

with or without the filters, but whatever, just wear some sort of ear protection, once your hearing is knackered there is no going back. :violin:
