Birdbrain Quiz on another wet and windy Tuesday with the glass steady at one bar.

I finally had to give up on the total CRAP weather station Sold by Aercus ( Aercus Instruments WS3085 )
The wind speed was always miles out.. had to be set to KH to get correct speed in MPH ). air pressure was useless, and finally the humidity went intermittent
Arranged a full refund with Amazon and ordered an Ecowitt HP2561
When I opened the box I was pretty miffed to discover the head unit ( with the sensors ) seemed identical
How could this be the same but cost twice as much !!
I put it all together and noticed little tine differences
Unpacked the display and that was def different
Had a fold out antenna, was larger, in colour and was USB driven. Only battery is an internal back up battery
Also a slot fora memory card and a USB firmware update port
Fired it all up and immediate differences
Base connected to head within seconds, display bright and clear, wind speed exactly the same as the hand held to start with
A few other improvements too but meaningless unless you compare like for like
It will also connect and is supported by a few weather servers such as WOW and underground
So, for the first time, I bring you the local, using the new Ecowitt HP2561 weather station

I find opening the back door and standing in the garden works fairly well.
