just received an email telling me where to get free child pornography, I have never even been on any porno site, so why are they targetting me?
I want to send it to the police so they can stop the bastards.

Opened the old outlook express about ten tonight and there it was I just hit the delete button.

I also had two emails from the Abbey National asking me to upgrade my security details, now you can call me cynical if you like but one I don't have an account with the said A N and secondly I was not aware that they traded in America from where the e-mail was sent!!!

Just got back from Barnsley police headquarters, printed the email and took it to them, they are filing an intelligence report.

seems to be a lot of it on the net, but im sure the plod monitor what goes on and just wait for there moment
there must be about 20 chat rooms on the US version of messenger with titles like "swapping kiddy porn" etc
so no doubt they will all be nicked at somepoint if they log onto it
police are getting clued up these days!
there was over 50 arrests made last week in a massive area raid for drugs
the police set up a market stall selling designer tshirts etc and had it running for 18 months!
said they were from leeds and even rented a flat in the lisson grove estate..got to know all the drug dealers in the area and get there trust though drinking/clubbing and making drug purchases, then 18 months later nicked just about everyone they came into contact with..even sealing off whole streets it was such a big bust!

If anyone else gets one I advise to do what I did print it out and take it to your local police station, they were very grateful to me bringing this email to their attention as they have a special unit set up to combat child pornography on the internet. Let get rid of the sick bastards once and for all.

Just had a phone call from police intelligence, they have tried all the links and drew a blank, they reckon it is just a scam to bombard people with spam, but have advised me if I receive anymore to direct them to my ISP.

I was bombarded with huge amounts of spam when on the dreaded AOHell. A lot was from one server. I tried many times to contact AOHell using the mail link they provided for exactly that purpose. I never ever received one reply.

I got the kiddie one too. Can they be harvesting addresses from the forum.. :dunno:

Well,

I know it's a little expensive, and not to everyones' taste, but since I signed up with the Broadband from BT, my spam mail has gone from about 50 per day to about 3-5 a week.

Now whether this is because my mail address has changed (obviously) or the fact that they have spam and pop-up filters etc included. I dunno :dunno: , but it works for me.

I was previously with Tiscali and that was crap, everything I marked as spam and reported (as per Tiscali instructions) still kept coming through.

Might be worth considering a change of ISP ?
