Just bought myself a fun bike to muck around on. :yo:

Its a Yamaha XT550, an old one - 1982. Apparently, they are quite rare.

I'm really pleased with it, I got it cheap as it didn't have an MOT but everything was working ok so I rode it straight into my local MOT station and got it done there and then.

It needs a lot of TLC and some cosmetic work done on it but nothing that a few sundays of work wont sort out.

Will get it taxed tomorrow so then I can make for the green lanes and have some fun with it. :neenaw:

Anyone else got a trail bike as a second bike?

xt???

If it is the model with the alloy tank and gold rims your on to a winner!!!
But best to keep it for fun,
my every day bike is an xtz750 with a trx850 lump, and Birdie front and rear end. It was supposed to be for the winter only but its a great laugh, :yo: even if you have not got the power of the bbird, so much so I use it every day.
have fun and hoist that front up at every set of lights!!!!!!

Yes, Ned.

But at least I can get into hiking gear. My tent doesn't have to double-up as a waterproof. :f

I no longer own a tent brother in law borrowed it when he was courting, It came back smelling of baby oil and was very slippy inside, so I thought I must be using It wrong so I let him keep it,...He was obviously having more fun with it than me :dunno:

Picture

This is not a good picture of the bike - it was taken by the previous owner.

Its now in bits as I am painting the frame and everything to tidy it up.

Once I have finshed it, I'll post another picture of it so you can see a before and after
