Forgotten by who? The funds raised by selling poppies goes towards helping the veterans throughout the year, many are living in homes provided through these funds, as with the able bodied veterans rememrance Sunday is an opportunity for them to turn out & pay their respects to family & comrades that lost their lives & to show remaining family that they are not forgotten.
It makes the news whenever a war veteran passes away, the information doesn't always come from family, sometimes it is the Royal British legion who are keeping an eye on them that breaks the sad news.

Shame they don't sell poppies all year round, then....

There are often RAFA collectors at our local supermarket - I assume they do all right as they come back.

To make it clear it is society including myself I am criticising and not the charities. Now the original Haig fund with it's cloud of high ranking retired officers all on expenses has gone, I am happier to contribute.

Not forgotten by me, as I have said before I wear a poppy all year round rather than for just a couple of days because I means something & I contribute when I can for the same reason

I did notice that during the silence there were quite a few people wandering around here & totally ignoring it all, to be fair it did annoy me until I thought well I'm a better man than you ;)
