Just has to be in context, would look a bit odd where I live...

Interesting comment. This is one of my favourite buildings, really does stick out like the proverbial sore thumb in this particular part of Manchester. It really polarises opinion.

I absolutely love it.

Yet this is in uber modern Salford Quays, absolutely stunning, can't even find a photo that does it justice.

Nobody bats an eyelid.IMG_0589.JPG

Still a cityscape AB which is fine. Not sure the council planners around here would let it go through.
We bad to jump through hoops when we just wanted to tidy up the office...

Because it has a traditional shape. I believe architects are competing to use the latest materials and to be the most outrageous.

A fine line between being outrageous and innovative and exciting?? The house brick was probably meet with shock and horror when it was first used.

My favourite building of all time. As office space it is pretty useless (like the NatWest Tower) but the bar at the top is pretty impressive. I may or may not be in the photo of the bar below........

I always thought the tricorn was a blot on a very poor landscape, the spinnaker is very impressive though.

Come on you Hatters
Saw the Willis building back in about 83/4 when I was there with my dad. Thought it was stunning, really stood out.

Not so sure about Andys very first pic though!!

And for the bar pic, he's gotta be the old fart sat in the middle with the stick. All the rest are far too young :lol:

I spent a couple of years working in the new Lloyds Building - never grew to love the outside, but the inside was great. As was going up in the lift on the outside of the building.
