Welcome.
£1200 is the most I would pay for a Bird, and that only for the pleasure of pushing it over a cliff.
£3k will get you a decent car.
Something to think about.
I can see things will be fun on here

Welcome GazJust joined up and paid my subscription, so thought it only polite to introduce myself
My name's Gaz and I'm currently "birdless" although hopefully not for long! I've been and looked at 3 today but they just wernt quite what I was after, so back to searching.
I've had a few bikes in my 20 years of riding, with my last one being a GSX1400, which tbh I really liked. However due to circumstances I had to sell, but now I'm back in the market and definitly looking for a bird.
So I apologise in advance for all my future questions and queries, but I look forward to hopefully having some pics of a "New ride" to show off soon

Well I'm still looking for "the right one", but I'm sure it will come!
I have viewed a few but they seem to be a bit tatty really, and the price hasn't been right to allow for this, or they have been lacking any sort of service history (We want something that's been well looked after).
Anywat, Me and my wife are going to view another shortly, so let's see what happens
On another point.....I'm wasting far too much time reading all the hilarious posts on here. I think if I've got it right:
* Jaws has got all the knowledge/info you would need regarding the blackbird
*and AndyBeaker is the nice polite one

As mentioned elsewhere Gaz, try to avoid anything that has 'full Honda history'I just want a well looked after one.

I spent a good part of 16 years or so sorting out problems specifically caused by having a Honda main stealer doing the servicing !
Personally I wouldn't worry too much about 'paperwork' in terms of servicing - I like to think I serviced my bikes really well (mainly as I did) but bugger all to support it come the time of sale. A Blackbird that has been with the seller for some time is usually a pretty decent bet - despite the Brunel engineering they were quite aspirational and as such generally well looked after.Yep I'm aware of "full dealer history" and it's woes. Would much prefer one that has paperwork to show independent or owner servicing carried out on a bike. I always do my own servicing so I know it's done correctly.....or at least I tjink I'm doing it correctly

Good man..
If you would like a word doc of the service item that I developed and used before I retired and Jaws Motorcycles moved to new owners, just ask
And as Andy says, if you find what you want do not get hung up on service history.. You will no doubt service it and put any issues to rights
And guff sent to you GazPm sent
