I always found this thread a little abusive since it was digging at a technical genious who managed to bore the sh.t out of me just by standing close by, I much preferred the technical content of the ride height thread (mentioned by samster elsewhere) which gave me an in depth knowledge of ride height adjustments and how to set my bikes up
Have to say that the maths was a little beyond me since even with the use of imaginary numbers, double integration and a spattering of quantum physics I still cannot fully understand how lifting the forks through the yokes increases the ride height .............. calculator poised to find the missing link.

Thanks for the maths bishbosh I'm off to make a spacer of negative width to test the theory!
Just ploughed through this thread and found Wolfies account of the three peeps behind him that followed each other into the hedge...
absolutely not, the idea was that spacers might be anisotropic and so by the use of negative width the spacer might actually grow thicker when under load and hence increase the ride height ......tinytim said:don't want to sound the pedant here, but shouldn't it be "thickness" as opposed to width? (negatively speaking of course). There IS a difference....
Pair or sliding doors, conveyor belt, fondle set...........cuddly toy !! :-0)

Stirrer .
I'm just getting back into two wheels again & find myself going out of my way looking for round abouts to lean into & riding on tarmac joins, raised white lines & riding on the side of speed humps trying to stop my arse twitching everytime the backend skips about. It seems to be working too !! ;-0));-0));-0))After adjusting the chain and correcting the wheel alignment:wank: I took the bird out. I wanted to be confident of its ability to handle and no longer run wide.
I am now confident that it's almost as easy to ride, at all speeds, as the blade.
More generally though, because of gypsy's jibes, I've begun practicing riding round islands, of various sizes. Because of a damaged right arm I find these difficut. But practicing difficult things until you can do them easilly builds confidence.
Both smix and two stroke tart have lost confidence in their ability to ride a bike. If they still want to ride all they need to do, I think, is to practice the things they find difficult to do.
Confidence ameliorates nervousness. :-0)
Classic thread, well worth a boing......

What a fuxking twat! How fucking dare you! Total wanker! Your a fucking liability on the road, go learn how to ride for a few millennia then actually see someone rides before you dare to make judgement!
Learn some common decency and respect you fecking wibblerwibblerwibblerwibbler!
Just had to post this again.
