Took my car to Halfords to get new front brake pads fitted, I think the man on the desk was having an off day as he asked if I was leaving my car there, I replied if I didn't they couldn't do the job.

Met a friend and walked into town, had to get a new battery for my spare car key.

Went to cafe for coffee and a couple of slices of toast, then called into Lidal to buy some cakes for my works McMillan cake sale

Onwards northwards once more, stopped overnight in Sweden and now back again into Norway. Quickly popped into and back out of the Arctic Circle centre, we didn’t stop over as there was about to be 150 sled dogs arriving. The 12 there were loud enough! IMG_4287.jpegIMG_4272.jpegIMG_4274.jpeg

Laid three wooden sleepers in the garden.

Even though I say it myself I did an excellent job.

If only the knob that I paid to lay sleepers six years ago had done such a good job I wouldn’t have had to redo his work.

Hope you are sitting on them with more enthusiasm than the more sensible parrot is sitting on her egg

Did Scotland on bike a few years ago, been by car before, did a sort of costal circuit.
The midges were a plenty in Ullapool.

Only rained the day we were heading for ferry.

Stirling in August for BMW rally.
The long drive on this side this time.

We stayed in Arrochar hotel when we were on a Shearings mini break, decent hotel but needed a bit of doing up as I recall.
It was a good deal at about £40 per night inc breakfast when I booked it a couple of months ago. I have stayed there before too (2 years ago). This time I noticed that the breakfast plates had become smaller and you had to help yourself whereas last time they had someone (with a chefs hat on) serving you the food. It is a bit tired around the edges but I would def stay again.

I usually go in May or September when the midges are not a nuisance. I saw a lot of sport car clubs on runs up there this time although I havent a clue what types most of them were. There was a whole bunch of Lotus 7's on the Bealach na Ba in the pouring rain and I saw a load of Porches one a group.

Set up my new iPad to replace the one I left on the plane in Nice and no-one was honest enough to hand it in. We were last off the plane too, so couldn’t have been another passenger……..

That’s also the reason for me being AWOL since last Friday

Nice but I much prefer the Charger
The Charger did look pretty mean in Matt black.

The P5B was absolutely stunning. Strange how the exotica on display such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis get little attention but the American and pre-1990 European stuff are the centre of attention. No better sight than a line of Mk2 Jags…..

Back home again so took the Tiger 800 out for a ride. A nice 100 mile ride with a coffee stop at a new place I found. Never again, coffee was horrible so went home & made myself a proper one.

Now warming up oven for dinner while watching a re-run of NCIS
